The tan!

Everyone knows that the hollywood look is that gorgeous glow, but we also know that to achieve that glow we either have to damage our skin, have a millon dollars$$, or turn the color of a pumpkin.yikes.... FALSE!
I recently stopped heading to the tanning bed after I read the statistics on how harmful it actually is on your skin.
<3 Did you know that just one trip to the tanning bed can heighten your chances of getting skin cancer by 75%?!
How scary is that! So I decided to do a little research and I came across this place called Air-Tan located right in the heart of Broad Ripple Village in Indianapolis, IN.

Now before you all ask these questions..
What exactly is an air tan..I had the same questions:
I called Air-Tan and ask so many questions, they surely answered them but also directed me to their page at www.air-tan.com this tells you everything you need to do before, during, and after. There is also a video on their site as well!
Air tan is done by an actual person..(yes you can wear a bra if you wish) but if you don't want the tan lines, it's not necessary and believe me I was very nervous about that but i felt very comfortable.

when I went I got sprayed by Katie<3, she was very cool and laid back. She did such a great job. My tan was so even and golden everyone kept asking me how my vacation was.

Air tan last anywhere from 7-14 days and cost $30 but there are specials being ran all the time. For instance, I got one for $30 and half off the second one.

Air tan will not turn you orange: Their solution has a special formula and DHA to balance out the self tanner with your skin!

Air tan is so precise and it's flawless, my hand and feet also looked great.

I would recommend this to anyone!

If you guys have any questions feel free to email me or contact Air-Tan themselves! What a great experience!

XoXo much love guys! And remember SUNSCREEN UP!

I am VERY new at blogging, and it just started for fun but is turning into something i love!
I am a licensed cosmetologist, But i am currently out of a salon because I am attending school to get my degree in business :). While I'm away from the salon I still do hair and LOVE doing it, it's my passion. I currently work at a Pharmacy and love my coworkers. I am from a very small town where you look to your left and right and all you see are cornfields. I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE makeup and everyone should. My favorite color is tiffany blue, I love MAC makeup. I am 22 years old and I'll be 23 this summer come august. I come from a very small family, and it's just my mom and i that live in the house. When I was 18 we lost my dad to a short battle with cancer, and I miss him every day! I have a lot of tattoos, and i feel that tattoos are not to be judge on that it's a form of art and expression, and that's exactly what mine are! I live to have fun, and love to live!

The EASIEST sock bun tutorial you'll ever see!

Hey everyone!
thanks for tuning in! Today we're going to talk about this famous sock bun that's going on right now! What is it? It's literally like  it sounds, it's a bun made from a sock! below i will go over step by step how to create this look with long and short hair! ready! Here we go!

First you will start out by getting an old tube sock. (the longer the bigger your bun!) Those with short hair don't want to make it too big or you will be able to see the sock. Make sure when selecting the color of the sock it's not too different from your hair. For example I chose black because my hair is very dark brown.

2nd step: Take the sock and cut the unopened end off.

3rd step: You will take the sock and place your forearm through it, and roll it up!

4th step: Roll the sock all the way up so it forms into a doughnut shape!

5th step: Place your hair in a normal pony tail. The higher the pony the higher your bun!

6th step: Place the doughnut shaped sock around your pony by pulling your pony through the center hole.

7th step: after doing this, your pony should be sticking out the center hold. spread your pony around the doughnut shaped sock!

And last step of all:
Secure it with a hair tie, touch up with some hair spray (i love kenra) and Voila! THE SOCK BUN!

How easy was that!? I hope to see you all walking with this sock bun! If you guys have any questions feel free to contact me and i will email you back as soon as i can! Love you all! tune in sunday for the big sexy wave tutorial!

Much love! XoXo

Makeup Brushology

Makeup Brushology. (The knowledge of Makeup Brushes)

Ever look around at a store and wonder…Hm, what’s that brush for?! Or wonder why you need so many makeup brushes?? It’s actually very essential, and below you will learn why! Below we will go over 5 different brushes and what their importance plays in the role of applying makeup. REMEMBER TO CLEAN YOUR BRUSHES!!!!!

http://www.maccosmetics.com/index.tmpl  My FAVORITE!

1. The foundation brush:
I really love the MAC 190 foundation brush, but there are many great ones out there! The purpose of this brush is to obviously apply foundation, but it does so much more! This brush not only saves your liquid foundation, but provides that smooth, even looks and allows you to handle the makeup with precision, and that you would not normally be able to do with a sponge. Make sure to brush in a pattern though because you don’t want the fine lines that come along with the pattern of the bristles.

2. The Concealer brush:
Once again any brand of brush will do but I prefer to use the 195 MAC concealer brush. This brush is very small and allows you to get into detail those small areas that need coverage as well, I always buy a mousse concealer and apply where mostly needed (beside nose, under eyes, and under the nose) the small areas you need more detail on!

3. The Contouring brush:
With this I actually prefer the brush by ELF which you can find at any drug store! This is by FAR my favorite out of all! This brush allows you to define your face in any which way you want! It helps define the cheekbones, or the nose if needed! This brushes angle allows you to contour your face, bringing out the features you want to bring out, Broadening or narrowing however much you would like!

4. The Eye Shadow brush:
This brush I use the MAC version. The size of this brush (being large for an eye shadow brush) is EXCELLENT for your base shadow you are using, but I also want to talk about the slanted brush that goes along with this base brush!

4B: The slanted Eye Shadow brush:
This brush has a slanted shape allowing you to mimic the shape of the eye, get into the crease, and blend to get that amazing Smokey eye look!!!

And last but not least everyone’s favorite!

5. The Bronzing brush:
We all know what this is, but do we use it right? This brush with full and soft bristles allows this brush to pick of the right amount of bronzer (not making you look crispy) and evenly apply to your skin flawlessly where you need it! Where you apply your bronzer is up to you! I always apply where I need something brightened and brought out!

Hope this helped you guys!! Tune in Thursday for a hair tutorial on the BIG SEXY WAVES and of course THE SOCK BUN!!!! For LONG and SHORT hair!!!!

First off, let's start by talking about length. Everyone is letting their hair grow out now, it's the thing. You want those long waves, and summer beach look. here are 5 tips to helping your hair grow faster!

1. Vitamins. take take take! Always a multivit, but you can also add some biotin in there. Biotin is the main source in healthy long hair and nails!

2. Avoid heat at any cost! (blow dryers, sun, flat irons, etc. ) any heat source, but if you must use heat always always always use a heat protectant. I love the product called It's a 10. They have an oil that penetrates into the hair shaft to not only restore but also protect. Always wear a hat in the sun as well! (don't forget your sun screen!)

3. Avoid the hair towel. Did you know putting a towel on wet hair causes more breakage than anything!? Blot your hair dry and avoid rubbing at all cost. Yes your hair grabs a lot of moisture but that's because it's thirsty! Give it a drink of some deep conditioner! I recomment It's a 10 miracle mask!
*also i recommend a hot oil treatment once a week to get the blood flow going! (sally's supply house has Jojaba oil treatments for a dollar!)

4. Silk, silk, silk! What do i mean by this? Silk pillow cases make it so that while sleeping you're hair is rubbing against something smoothe, and not causing breakage. Regular pillow cases cause so much friction to your hair while tossing and turning in your sleep! This will elimate some to most of that friction!

and last but not least.

5. TRIM! yes, I do know that your hair grows from the scalp not from the ends. So how could this possibly help? You're ends become dry and damaged and begin to break, once they break that end is no longer there, and the more it's exposed to damage the more it will break causing your hair to look blah and stringy, and become even shorter and shorter. (which is why most people say, "My hair never gets past this length!) Not true, it does but it breaks off in the process. TRIM THOSE ENDS!

Stay tuned for tomorrow! we'll be talking about how to get those BIG sexy waves!!!

thanks for all your support guys! Leave some comments and let me know what you think!
